Today I decided to mix things up a little bit, so instead of working at home I drove down to a local parking lot and sat in my car to do my work and “people watch”. People are funny and I need that comic relief sometimes because of the tough topics I write about.
Well to my surprise, it didn’t take long before people started being “people” and the antics began!😆 I decided to “take notes” on all the funny or interesting things I saw, so I could look back on them later on and laugh, etc. I then further decided that every time I work in this parking lot, I’m going to share my observations with you all, “police report” styleeee…(disclaimer~if you are concerned for my safety in this parking lot, plz don’t be. It is in a teeny weeny affluent retirement town and is quite safe. Oh, and my dog hangs with me too!🐕)
Incident # 1 (Things that make you go “hmmm…”)
At approximately 1300 hours…and 8 minutes, a late model white sedan pulled into the spot in front of me and few seconds later a man in a red truck pulled into the spot right next to the woman in the white sedan aaaaaand they proceeded to text each other, the entire time and never got out of their vehicles. I could tell by their body language and the fact they kept looking at each other. After about 20 minutes, they both left, at the same time! Ya, I can’t figure it out either…🤔 Interesting, nonetheless!
Incident # 2 (Rrrrricoooo Ssssuaveeee-the geriatric series)
At approximately 1500 hours and probably a few seconds, a couple pulled up in a late model light blue sedan, once again into the spot right smack in front of me. The woman gets out and enters the store. As soon as she’s out of sight, the man removes his coke bottle “seeing” glasses and quickly swaps them out for a pair of much “cooler and younger” looking sun glasses and proceeds to snap a “selfie” of well, himselfie. He then quickly switches glasses again and starts messing w his phone, (obviously posting or sending that sexy selfie to somewherez or to somewhoz! Ya, he’s about in the 67 -75 year old range I’m estimating (on the sly of course). I’m dying laughing so hard inside that my eyes are tearing.😂 And shame on him!
Well it looks like the big “takeaway” I learned from today’s parking lot adventure is that I don’t need to search hard for the entertainment. Heck, I didn’t even need to turn my head to the left or right, literally, because it all happened in the spot right smack in front of my car, free of charge! I wonder what next time will bring?!?
